Reconsideration Motion – CR22-102 Appointment to the Inaugural Board of Directors – Community Safety and Wellbeing

WHEREAS Section 27(1)(b)(i) of The Procedure Bylaw, Bylaw No. 9004 provides that a majority of Council may vote to reconsider a decision taken at a previous meeting provided that the member seeking reconsideration has given the appropriate notice of their intent;

WHEREAS City Council at its meeting on August 17, 2022 passed CR22-87:  Community Safety and Well-being Governance, including the appointment of a member of Council to the inaugural Board of Directors;

WHEREAS City Council appointed Councillor Dan LeBlanc at its meeting on September 14, 2022 to serve on the inaugural Board of Directors for the Community Safety and Well being Organization (now incorporated as Community and Social Impact Regina) for the term September 14, 2022 to December 31, 2023; and

WHEREAS it is advisable to revise the Board of Directors membership;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that City Council:

1.      Reconsider its decision of September 14, 2022 appointing Councillor Dan LeBlanc to the Inaugural Board of Directors for Community and Social Impact Regina; and

2.      Appoint a new member of Council to serve out the remainder of the original term at future meeting of City Council.
