DISCUSSION

The Globe Theatre is a Community Partner of the City because of the unique and strategic impact the Globe Theatre has on the local arts sector. The Globe Theatre’s contributions are strongly aligned with all three goals of the Cultural Plan: Embrace Cultural Diversity; Strengthen the Artistic and Cultural Community; and Commemorate and Celebrate Regina’s Cultural Heritage. The Globe Theatre has a track record of producing the work of diverse and under-represented artists and communities. It is one of the largest employers of artists in Saskatchewan, who regularly partners with other arts organizations to build their capacity. The Globe Theatre has made a commitment to rehabilitating and conserving an important heritage landmark in the downtown.

The City will continue to monitor and evaluate this investment to ensure it continues to align with our Cultural Plan.

The Globe Theatre has provided further information in Appendix A to address the request of the Finance and Administration Committee.
