Supplemental Report - Canada Day

None with respect to this supplementary report.

Approval of EX20-12 would only result in funding for Regina Canada Day Committee (RCDC) if there are eligible expenses above and beyond the $25,000 already committed by Canadian Heritage.

City Council may consider providing an alternative amount of funding less than the $25,000 recommended, which would only be provided for eligible expenses above and beyond the $25,000 already committed by Canadian Heritage.

City Council may decide not to fund this initiative this year.

At the May 13, 2020 Executive Committee meeting, during consideration of report EX20-12, the Executive Committee requested that Administration report back with additional budget information in support with the RCDC’s request.

RCDC is currently considering opportunities to proceed with a virtual event. In response to Citry Council’s request for additional budget information, the RCDC was not able to provide any specifics as they are not sufficiently advanced in their planning to make any commitments.  RCDC’s spokesperson has indicated verbally to Administration that they understand that City Council may not wish to proceed with funding approval without this information. The funding from Canadian Heritage will not be impacted should City Council not provide funding.

This report is supplementary to report EX20-12 from the May 13, 2020 meeting of the Executive Committee.
